Give Yourself a Little "Oomph"

We love Oomph and have been carrying their great products since Fun House first opened. In fact, our first ad, which generated so much response, featured their orange mirror and navy console. Oomph products are fun, colorful, hip, and made in the USA to boot. What more could you ask for in a product? Needless to say, we couldn't resist ordering several new pieces for our showroom at the New York Gift Show in August. After a much anticipated wait, all the new items have finally arrived to Fun House! More tini tables, the Fenwick coffee table, and a white bar cart are just some of the new pieces we have. Keep in mind, we can always order more! We carry the lacquer color samples and table top options in the store to choose from. So come stop by Fun House, and add a little  Oompto your life!

Art in Paris

Jennifer recently returned from a fabulous trip to Paris during Fashion Week. While she was there, she was lucky enough to explore Montmartre with her husband. During this time, she found tons of amazing artwork, some of which she purchased and brought back to Fun House so that we may share it with our customers. For those of you don't know, Montmartre is a hill in Paris that was home to many famous artists such as Salvador Dali, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Vincent van Gogh, and more. The beautiful Basilica of the Sacré-Cœur is also located there.

Although it was raining, this did not stop artists from selling their paintings on the streets of Montmartre. As you can see in the photo below, Jennifer flips through some great pieces done by a local artist, his paintings shielded by umbrellas.

Lee Luxe: The Whole Story

Fun House now offers Lee Luxe. We have just brought our first Luxe sofa to the store for all to come see. It is a beautiful and comfortable slip covered sofa in a natural tone luxe fabric.

Lee Luxe: The Whole Story

"A small, fully integrated mill in Belgium is producing 10 SKU's of exclusive fabrics for Lee.

Having worked for his father in the family weaving mill for 8 years, the designer of these fabrics discovered he was allergic to synthetic yarns. For this reason, he decided to develop natural yarns with special weaves to create high end fabrics. From designing, growing, spinning, weaving, dying, to finishing; everything is done within one organization.

He has been producing these fabrics for over 10 years. Using the most unique yarns and processes available. All of the existing spinning machines were rebuilt and adapted in order to be able to weave certain yarn types. These yarns cannot be sourced in the market; they are theirs exclusively. The two types of yarns used are linens and blends of linen/wool/cotton. The process by which they produce and dry the fibers is very complicated, but the result is an optical effect that cannot be reached elsewhere.

The eaves are unique and quite special. The mill weaves on a normal weaving loom, but they weave at a very slow speed because of the thickness of the yarns and the complexity of the weaves.

The dying process is fulfilling all of the strict European environmental laws.

The finishing techniques used on the fabrics create luxurious appearance and great hand to the fabric." - Lee Industries

Natirar

We are thrilled to announce that we have recently completed the Social Pavillion at Natirar and we have begun working on the Private Member Lounge. Stay tuned for photos! For those of you who are unfamiliar with Natirar, it is a historic estate that was transformed into a luxurious resort, complete with a private country club, cooking school, restaurant Ninety Acres, guest cottages, and more. It is even a popular location to hold a wedding. See www.natirar.com for more information.

Mansion in May

With May only a couple of days away, Mansion in May is rapidly approaching. This will be our first Mansion in May and we are honored to be chosen as one of the lucky designers who get to design a room in the house. The home, Glynallyn, is an old tutor castle located at 12 Canfield Road in Morristown, New Jersey. Over 20,000 guests are expected to attend this years Mansion in May. All proceeds are donated to the Morristown Medical Center.

The room we designed is located on the second floor, and it is called "The Singles Suite." Our idea behind the room was to create the perfect guest room. We envisioned a room that is comfortable for multiple guests. The two twin Artisan Poster Beds, which sport full headboards and dramatic horizontal stripes, offer a nice refreshing change from the usual standard queen size guest bedroom. Between the whimsical fabrics and classic wood furniture, the room produces a feeling rich in organic texture. This is a truly sophisticated guest room where visitors can feel at home, whether they are friends, family, or your own children returning from college.

So far the room has been seen only by the Press and other Mansion in May worker bees, and the positive response has been overwhelming. Tickets can be purchased at the door throughout the month of May, or at www.mansioninmay.org. We look forward to seeing you all there!
